Kindness
But the stranger that
dwelleth with you shall be unto you as one born among you, and thou shalt love
him as thyself; for ye were strangers in the land of Egypt: I am the LORD your
God. (Leviticus
19:34)
He that despiseth his neighbour sinneth: but he that hath
mercy on the poor,
happy is he.
(Proverbs 14:21)
Blessed are the merciful: for they shall obtain mercy. (Matthew 5:7)
Give to every man that asketh of thee; and of him that taketh away thy goods ask
them not again.
(Luke 6:30)
I have shewed you all things, how that so labouring ye ought to support the
weak, and to remember the words of the Lord Jesus, how he said, It is more
blessed to give than to receive. (Acts 20:35)
We then that are strong ought to bear the infirmities of the weak, and not to
please ourselves. Let every one of us please his neighbour for his good to
edification.
(Romans 15:1-2)
Brethren, if a man be overtaken in a fault, ye which are spiritual, restore such
an one in the spirit of meekness; considering thyself, lest thou also be
tempted. Bear ye one another's burdens, and so fulfil the law of Christ. (Galatians 6:1-2)
As we have therefore opportunity, let us do good unto all men, especially unto
them who are of the household of faith. (Galatians 6:10)
And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God
for Christ's sake hath forgiven you. (Ephesians 4:32)
Put on therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, bowels of mercies,
kindness, humbleness of mind, meekness, longsuffering; Forbearing one another,
and forgiving one another, if any man have a quarrel against any: even as Christ
forgave you, so also do ye. And above all these things put on
charity, which is
the bond of perfectness. (Colossians 3:12-14)
Finally, be ye all of one mind, having compassion one of another, love as
brethren, be pitiful, be courteous: Not rendering evil for evil, or railing for
railing: but contrariwise blessing; knowing that ye are thereunto called, that
ye should inherit a blessing. (1 Peter 3:8-9)
And above all things have fervent charity among yourselves: for charity shall
cover the multitude of sins. (1 Peter 4:8)
And beside this, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue; and to virtue
knowledge; And to knowledge temperance; and to temperance patience; and to
patience godliness; And to godliness brotherly kindness; and to brotherly
kindness charity.
(2 Peter 1:5-7)
But whoso hath this world's good, and seeth his brother have need, and shutteth
up his bowels of compassion from him, how dwelleth the love of God in him? My
little children, let us not love in word, neither in tongue; but in deed and in
truth. (1 John
3:17-18)
