Accountability
Therefore I will judge you, O house of Israel, every one according to his ways,
saith the Lord GOD. Repent, and turn yourselves from all your transgressions; so
iniquity shall not be your ruin. (Ezekiel 18:30)
Agree with thine adversary quickly, whiles thou art in the way with him; lest at
any time the adversary deliver thee to the judge, and the judge deliver thee to
the officer, and thou be cast into prison. Verily I say unto thee, Thou shalt by
no means come out thence, till thou hast paid the uttermost farthing. (Matthew
5:25-26)
And into whatsoever city or town ye shall enter, enquire who in it is worthy;
and there abide till ye go thence. And when ye come into an house, salute it.
And if the house be worthy, let your peace come upon it: but if it be not
worthy, let your peace return to you. And whosoever shall not receive you, nor
hear your words, when ye depart out of that house or city, shake off the dust of
your feet. Verily I say unto you, It shall be more tolerable for the land of
Sodom and Gomorrha in the day of judgment, than for that city. (Matthew
10:11-15)
And the times of this ignorance God winked at; but now commandeth all men every
where to repent: Because he hath appointed a day, in the which he will judge the
world in righteousness by that man whom he hath ordained; whereof he hath given
assurance unto all men, in that he hath raised him from the dead. (Acts
17:30-31)
I have planted, Apollos watered; but God gave the increase. So then neither is
he that planteth any thing, neither he that watereth; but God that giveth the
increase. Now he that planteth and he that watereth are one: and every man shall
receive his own reward according to his own labour. (1 Corinthians 3:6-8)
Every man's work shall be made manifest: for the day shall declare it, because
it shall be revealed by fire; and the fire shall try every man's work of what
sort it is. If any man's work abide which he hath built thereupon, he shall
receive a reward. If any man's work shall be burned, he shall suffer loss: but
he himself shall be saved; yet so as by fire. (1 Corinthians 3:15)
For every man shall bear his own burden. (Galatians 6:5)
And I saw a great white throne, and him that sat on it, from whose face the
earth and the heaven fled away; and there was found no place for them. And I saw
the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and
another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out
of those things which were written in the books, according to their works. And
the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the
dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their
works. And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second
death. And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the
lake of fire. (Revelation 20:11-15) |
