Satan
Most
of all, we don't pray because we really don't believe it works. Prayer is a
bloody battleground! It is where victories are won! A place to die to self! A
place where a holy God exposes secret sin! No wonder Satan tries to hinder
prayer! A praying man sends a shudder through hell. That man or woman is marked
because Satan knows prayer is the power that crushes his kingdom. Satan is not
afraid of power-hungry saints, but he trembles at the sound of a praying saint!
- David Wilkerson
All
Satan's apples have worms, the Bible clearly teaches. Every promise of a good
time the devil ever made is a lie. Every good time the devil ever gave was
misery when the other side was reached. It never turns out happily. - John R.
Rice
You
shall see neither hook nor line, much less the subtle angler himself, while he
is offering you his bait. And his bait shall be so fitted to your temper and
disposition, that he will be sure to find advantages within you, and make your
own principles and inclinations betray you; and whenever he ruineth you, he will
make you the instruments of ruin to others. - Richard Baxter
To
be more than conqueror means to get a victory that settles something
permanently; a Gettysburg, a Waterloo, a Sebastopol, a certain, indubitable
victory that fixes something so it will stay fixed. When we get this victory, we
say "No" to Satan so loud that it rings through every corridor of hell and lets
all the devils know that they are defeated and that we are triumphant. - Seth
Rees
When
a Christian shuns fellowship with other Christians, the devil smiles. When he
stops studying the Bible, the devil laughs. When he stops praying, the devil
shouts for joy. - Corrie ten Boom
Satan
is very crafty; he knows the ins and outs of manhood. There is many an old
castle that has stood against every attack, but at last some traitor from within
has gone without, and said "I know an old deserted passage, a subterranean back
way, that has not been used for many a-day. In such and such a field you will
see an opening; clear away a heap of stones there, and I will lead you down the
passage: you will then come to an old door, of which I have the key and I can
let you in; and so by a back way I can lead you into the very heart of the
citadel, which you may then easily capture." It is so with Satan. Man knoweth
not himself so well as Satan knows him. There are back ways and subterranean
passages into man's heart which the devil doth well understand. and he who
thinketh that he is safe, let him take heed lest he fall. - Charles Spurgeon
So
far as we are concerned, the power of Satan can only be so destroyed as we,
through death, know Christ in the power of His resurrection, receiving His risen
life more and more. - T. Austin-Sparks
God
is the Great I Am. Satan is the great I Am Not; and he is never happier than
when he has convinced people that he is non-existent. - Vance Havner |
