Giving
W.
A. Criswell tells of an ambitious young man who told his pastor he'd promised
God a tithe of his income. They prayed for God to bless his career. At that time
he was making $40.00 per week and tithing $4.00. In a few years his income
increased and he was tithing $500.00 per week. He called on the pastor to see if
he could be released from his tithing promise, it was too costly now. The pastor
replied, "I don't see how you can be released from your promise, but we can ask
God to reduce your income to $40.00 a week, then you'd have no problem tithing
$4.00." - W. A. Criswell
You must give some time to your fellow man. Even if it's a little thing, do
something for those who have need of help, something for which you get no pay
but the privilege of doing it. For remember, you don't live in a world all your
own. Your brothers are here, too. - Albert Schweitzer
He that loveth, flieth, runneth, and rejoiceth. He is free, and cannot be held
in. He giveth all for all, and hath all in all, because he resteth in one
highest above all things, from whom all that is good flows and proceeds. -
Thomas ã Kempis
For whatever reason, God has blessed me with the ability, put me in a position
to make these leaps and bounds. I'm fulfilling my part of the bargain, which is
to give back and be a positive influence on others. That's all you can do; take
what you've been given and spread it around. - Denzel Washington
God
has established throughout all the universe the principle of giving. Even in the
natural world, the rivers, the ocean, the clouds, all give. It is so throughout
the whole kingdom of nature and of grace. This diffusive principle is every
where recognized. This is the very spirit of Christ. He sought not to please
himself, but to do good to others. He found his highest happiness in denying
himself to do good to others. So it is with this class of persons, they are ever
ready to deny themselves of enjoyments and comforts, and even of necessaries,
when by so doing they can do more good to others. - Charles Finney
God
has given us two hands -- one to receive with and the other to give with. We are
not cisterns made for hoarding; we are channels made for sharing. - Billy
